In addition to asking interns to rate and rate their own internship experiences, we also ask them to rate the reputations of other employers to determine which internships are most desirable. Interns were presented with a list of top companies and asked to rate each company on a scale of 1-10 based on the prestige of their internship, with 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest. Additionally, respondents say that Google "looks amazing on a resume" and is "ranked the best tech company in the world to work for." But since "everyone wants to work there," it's "hard to get an internship" with this "industry leader."

Respondents also say that Apple offers "good salary," "great benefits," and "significant projects." While some respondents say that Apple is "unmatched," "the best company ever," and "probably the best internship you'll ever have," others say that the prestige of your internship "depends on the career you choose." "It's a UX dream," says one respondent.

microsoftremains in fourth place this year. According to survey participants, this "leading technology brand" and "innovative and creative brand" offers "good benefits," "good pay," and "a cool culture." Now the "e-commerce powerhouse" but "everything works without interruption"amazonasit dropped three places to No. 8; and the "dominant", "innovative" and "leading" social media platformFacebook, which has a "bad rap" due to privacy concerns, also dropped three places to finish in 10th place.

In addition to asking which companies they'd like to intern at, Vault surveyed more than 11,000 current and past interns about their actual internship experiences. On a scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the highest and 1 being the lowest, respondents were asked to rate their internship experience in six main areas: quality of life, compensation and benefits, interviewing, career development, job prospects, full-time employment and Diversity.

To determine an overall score for each program, relative rating weights were assigned based on what interns told us they valued most about an internship. The overall score is based on the following weighted formula: 30 percent career development, 20 percent job prospects, 20 percent quality of life, 20 percent compensation, 5 percent diversity, and 5 percent application process. Vault then compiled rankings of the best internship programs in more than 25 different fields.

This year's winners include:

#1 Best Overall Internship: Infosys InStep Internship

says a former studentinfosysIntern: “The internship was excellent in almost every way. I really enjoyed my projects and found it gratifying to see how they connected to the broader work of Infosys. I learned a lot from the speaker series that took place several times a week. I have had the opportunity to listen to people from all backgrounds and learn how they have been successful. I also enjoyed participating in the social and community development activities, especially the hackathon. It was an amazing experience connecting with people from all over the world.” Another former Infosys intern who did a virtual internship with the company tells us, “I loved all the leadership and career webinars Infosys offered, as well as the internal learning. site, the training sessions and all the networking opportunities with the executives. I had several sessions of this per week that were incredibly engaging. I love her!"

No. 2 Best Overall Internship: WilkinGuttenplan Winter or Summer Internship

According to a formerWilkinGuttenplan Intern: “The best aspects of the internship were the training and the actual work assignments. The team really put their time and energy into helping the interns successfully complete the work assigned to us. Even after the training, if I ever had a question or concern, I could always message my manager and she took the time to help me. Another great aspect of the internship was the virtual internship. Instead of removing this element of the intern (since we weren't in person), management got around this hurdle by implementing video calls so interns can see what they are doing on a daily basis. And in one of those observational experiences, I was able to 'sit in' a few meetings, which was really cool."

Other notable names in this year's Top 100 Internships include theAbbott Internship Program, which climbed two places to 12th overall and also ranked first in healthcare and first in data engineering and analytics; HeDreamWorks Internship Program, which ranks 23rd overall and 2nd in Media and Telecommunications; and theSalesforce.com Futureforce-Practice, which ranks 26th overall, while also ranking 6th for technology and engineering, 2nd for computer science, and 5th for software engineering and software engineering.
